The work has begun!

Creek Family,

I wanted to give you a quick update just to let you know that our work with Dr. Ewart on the transition process has begun, and to remind you of two key dates coming in early December for you to keep on your calendar.

The first step in this process for us is the assessment phase. Right now, we are specifically working on gathering data about our church (attendance, baptisms, budgets) that Dr. Ewart and his team will use to help us understand both where we have been and where we are going. While sometimes a bit tedious, this is critical work. Pastor Steve Sweeney in particular is devoting time and energy to walk through this step well, so please pray for him in particular.

Now, on to the two key dates I mentioned above:

  • Dec. 8: Dr. Ewart will be in all morning services to give an overview of the entire transition process. This will be a very helpful time for all of us to hear from him together.

  • Dec. 11: We will gather in the Legacy Worship Center for a churchwide prayer meeting to pray for the transition process and our church body. We encourage all Creekers to be there for this night. Normal activities will be held for our Creek Kids elementary and preschoolers, while 6th-12th grade students will join all adults in the prayer meeting.

That's all for now. We won't be posting any updates next week because of the Thanksgiving break. See you at the Creek!

Pastor Jason (on behalf of the Elder Body)
